Faculty Bio of Adam Booser, MD

 

Adam Booser, MD, has been a pediatric anesthesiologist at Children’s Mercy Hospital since 2005. He has served on the cardiac anesthesia team and currently serves on the transplant anesthesia team. Dr. Booser was the Director of Comprehensive Pain at Children’s Mercy Hospital from 2020 to 2022. From 2014-2021, he served as the Director of Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesia at Children's Mercy Hospital. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine; Clinical Instructor of Anesthesiology, University of Kansas School of Medicine.

In 2000, Dr. Booser started out his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins Hospital before swithing into anethesiology. He moved to New York City for anesthesilogy residency (2001-2004) at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, Hospital for Special Surgery, and Memorial Sloan Kettering. Dr. Booser then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Colorado Children’s in Denver (2004-2005.)

In June of 2023, Dr. Booser obtained board certification in Pain Medicine through the American Board of Pain Medicine. His specific interests in pediatric pain medicine include centralized and neuropathic pain conditions, chronic pediatric pain, pain medicine in the NICU and PICU, peripheral and neuraxial regional analgesia in treating complex and chronic pain, pediatric headache/migraine/facial pain, opioid-induced neurotoxicity, and pediatric pelvic pain disorders, especially endometriosis.

Dr. Booser also has served on the Ethics Committee for over a decade and is one of the Ethics Committee consultants for Children’s Mercy Hospital Hospital.
