Overview
The US is experiencing a significant increase in opioid and other substance use disorder related deaths in recent years. This issue also impacts pediatric and adolescent patients. Utilization of multidisciplinary treatment approaches, involving pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic options, can help patients more effectively manage their pain while also reducing opioids in the community (and lower the potential risk of inappropriate use).
