Suicide Competency Training for the Medical Social Worker (ON-DEMAND)

This 1 hour social work continuing education activity focuses on the practice standard for completing suicide screening, assessment, safety planning, means restriction and documentation for medical social workers at Children's Mercy Hospital.

1. Identify the key components to include in a targeted mental health assessment.
2. Understand the importance of good safety planning and means restriction education.
3. Review documentation expectations.

Children’s Mercy Hospital’s Department of Social Work has approved this program for contact hours on behalf of the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Providership # 10-004.
