2025 Equity and Diversity Monthly Education Series - The Power Of Literacy

Children’s Mercy Equity and Diversity Education Series is focused on educating faculty, students, and health professionals about ways to address diversity, equity, anti-racism, and inclusion contributes to more effective strategies for improving health for individuals and communities of color, reduce barriers to quality healthcare access,  and increase social equity for all. 
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), ABS CC (1.00 hours), ANCC Contact Hour(s) (1.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (1.00 hours), Respiratory Therapy (1.20 hours), Social Work (1.00 hours)

1. Review barriers to adult literacy in the community, especially those impacted by health-related social needs.
2. Discuss, Literacy KC, as a resource to support community members, including employees.
3. Dialogue on the impacts of health literacy.
4. Describe the value of literacy in their adult lives.

1. Self-report increased knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
2. Describe one way they will integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into their clinical practice.

Children's Mercy Hospital  designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 1.20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].
