ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Describe the challenges and limitations of medical mission trips from high-income countries to underserved communities in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)
  2. Identify the importance of culturally responsive and community-driven health interventions in promoting long-term sustainability and local empowerment in global health initiatives and how culturally insensitive care can cause harm.
  3. Identify the benefits of conducting effective community health needs assessments in collaboration with local stakeholders and village leaders.

ASWB Objectives

Accreditation

Nursing:

Participants who meet the requirements for successful completion will receive 1 nursing contact hour.

Children’s Mercy Kansas City is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by VTL Center for Professional Development, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Social Work:

1 Social Work CEUs will be provided to licensed social workers. Children’s Mercy Kansas City’s Department of Social Work is approved as a provider of contact hours on behalf of the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Providership # 10-004.

Respiratory Therapy:

The Children’s Mercy Hospital, CEU Evaluator has approved this program for 1.2 Live Respiratory Care CEU’s, on behalf of the Kansas Respiratory Care Society, a chapter society of the AARC.

Radiology:

This activity has been approved by ASRT for 1 Category “A” CE credits.
