Overview

Clinical Advances in Pediatrics Symposium (CAPS) is focused on providing the latest advances in pediatric research and evidence-based practice to improve the quality of children’s health care. This annual learning event emphasizes practical application of current concepts that pediatricians, pediatric specialists, family physicians, and advanced practice providers involved in the care of children and adolescents can apply in their practice.  


ACCME Objectives
  1. Apply updated, evidence-based guidelines and emerging research to improve diagnosis, treatment, and management of common and complex pediatric conditions
  2. Integrate multidisciplinary approaches and interprofessional collaboration strategies to enhance care delivery and outcomes in pediatric populations.
  3. Identify opportunities to address current challenges in pediatric practice through practical, patient-centered interventions.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn XX MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Clinical updates pertaining to cardiology, endocrinology, and gynecology for patients with Turner syndrome in an interactive, case-based workshop setting. 

Objectives:
  • Apply established cardiac screening guidelines and determine appropriate indications for medical management and surgical/transcatheter CV interventions across neonatal, pediatric, and young adult populations with Turner Syndrome. 
  • Diagnose growth disorder associated with Turner Syndrome and select appropriate hormone evaluation and treatment strategies based on clinical presentation and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Implement fertility assessment and monitoring strategies and provide counseling to individuals with Turner Syndrome regarding reproductive options and long-term planning.
