After the Tragedy - Provider Town Hall On-Demand

Community providers in KC and the region are likely to encounter pediatric patients impacted by the recent mass shooting at the Super Bowl Parade and Rally. Whether attending in person, watching on TV, or hearing about it from others, children in the area have been exposed to a trauma. Pediatric providers may encounter questions from patients and parents - both immediately following and in the coming months, and should be prepared with trauma informed practices, mental health resources available, and ways to address their own wellbeing, as they too have been impacted by this tragedy.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (0.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (0.50 hours), Social Work (1.00 hours)

1. Utilize trauma informed practices in patient visits related to potential trauma.
2. Counsel patients and families on available resources for trauma and/or mental health concerns.
3. Adopt strategies to manage their own wellbeing.
