Creating a Safe Workplace: Recognizing and Supporting Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence (On Demand)

This is the recorded 1 hour continuing education presentation held on 10/22/2026. This education will support increasing knowledge for healthcare professionals in recognizing workplace impacts of intimate partner violence, responding appropriately to disclosures, understanding trauma-informed support strategies, and utilizing organizational and community resources to enhance employee safety and well-being. 

1. Define intimate partner violence (IPV), coercive control, and describe prevalence and impacts on health and healthcare organizations.
2. Identify warning signs that may indicate an employee or colleague is experiencing IPV and use trauma informed care responses to support a colleague.
3. Apply knowledge to workplace scenarios based upon organizational responsibilities, workplace safety planning, and available referral resources.

Children’s Mercy Kansas City’s Department of Social Work is approved as a provider of 1.00 contact hours on behalf of the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Providership # 10-004.
