2026 Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Pediatric Training Course

Monday, March 2, 2026, 8:00 AM - Friday, March 6, 2026, 5:30 PM, Children's Mercy Adele Hall Campus

This course is designed to give the new pediatric SANE nurse the knowledge and skills to be successful in their role.

Requirements for successful completion:

• Attend all 5 days of the course.

• Complete a pre- and post-test for knowledge assessment and application.

• Participate in all skills stations, knowledge checks, and case studies.

• Complete a post-program evaluation in CloudCME to receive certificate for contact hours.

ANCC Contact Hour(s) (42.50 hours)

1. Identify findings of a SAFE exam.
2. Recognize collaborating techniques to use with multiple agencies involved in a sexual assault case.
3. Identify the physical and psychosocial care needed for the patient based on the specific patient presentation.
4. Have an increased skill to care for the sexually assaulted pediatric patient population.

All participants must have a CloudCME profile set up before registering.

2. Click “Sign In” from the top menu bar.

a. Select “Sign in with your Email and Password” (on the right)

b. You can now enter the credentials you created for your profile OR select Create a New Account.

3. You may be prompted to complete your profile if it is not updated. Please ensure all required fields are completed, including “Profession”, which is often missed. We encourage you to review and enter as much as you like.

4. You can now search the system for this upcoming program.

Registration will close on February 26, 2026.

Once your profile is created, come back to this page to register for the training program.

A pre-test will be emailed to you to complete before the class starts.

Participants MUST attend all 5 days of the course.

Participants should have a medical director or collaborating provider who is a child abuse pediatrician or SAFE-CARE provider.

If the P-SANE/program does not have a qualified collaborating pediatric provider (child abuse pediatrician or SAFE-CARE provider), the program medical director will please need to attend training as well.
